What is deliverance?

Deliverance is being set free from the bondage of the enemy by the power of the Holy Spirit. This process and timing happens when you bring your agreement in alignment with the Lord’s will. Deliverance can happen with a release of demonic oppression from your mind, your soul, and your body and often happens in conjunction with healing from trauma and soul wounds.

How to prepare yourself to receive
deliverance at one of our events!

Have you given your life to Jesus?

Not only can a believer have a demon, but deliverance is a gift for God’s children. Allowing Jesus to be Lord of your life is essential in being prepared to receive deliverance. The love and power of the Holy Spirit can set you free – and He wants to!

Do you truly want to be free?

Pursuing deliverance without a desire to maintain freedom is an exercise in futility. The best candidates for deliverance are those who are truly ready to guard their freedom as it is attained. We do that by the power of the Holy Spirit, but our hearts must be ready to do the work and align our efforts with the working of the Holy Spirit in staying free.

Is your will surrendered to the Lordship of Jesus?

Has the Lord truly become Lord of your life? Has your will yielded to His plans and care for you? God truly can set us free through deliverance but it takes a heart postured to receive from Him. Desperation is the fruit of a heart that is willing to do anything for its freedom.

Are you willing to come humbly and participate in your deliverance and maintain your freedom?

A lot of people can come to a revival service and have a script about what deliverance is supposed to look like. They can put parameters around themselves and want God to do things this way or that way. But your heart is really ready when you’re coming with a humble heart. You’re saying, “God, whatever you want to do, I just want more of you. I’m willing to yield however you want to move and whatever you want to do.” This is the best setup for you to be ready to receive deliverance.

Engage with Holy Spirit as Comforter

This is a time when your vessel needs to be filled with the presence of God (the Holy Spirit). Take advantage of every opportunity you can to press into His presence, His comfort. Allow Him to fill every place where you were set free in your vessel.

Spend time in the Word of God

He might comfort you through the time you spend in the Word of God. Fill yourself up with the things of the Spirit. Spending time in the Scriptures allows the Word of God to encourage and change how you think and the way you live. Listen to and obey the words of Jesus Christ.

Worship

Worship and prayer, filling the atmosphere of your home with the sounds of worship and engage your heart as well.

Prayer

Prayer in the Bible tells us to pray without ceasing. This is a way to keep your Spirit and your heart guarded.

Guard your words

Be sure to guard the things that come out of your mouth. Make sure you’re not speaking curses out loud. The Bible talks about blessing and cursing proceeds out of the mouth like a fountain. Make sure you’re speaking blessings so that door does not reopen to the enemy.

Hold your thoughts captive

Pay attention to what you’re thinking about. One of the most common thoughts the enemy will use to tempt you after deliverance is, “Was that real? Did I really experience that?” A spirit of fear may present itself and try to convince you that it has all come back, it wasn’t real or you’re not going to get free. Most often, deliverance happens in layers. You might have experienced a portion of freedom but there may be more freedom for you down the road. Don’t be disheartened. Guard your thoughts. Protect your heart. Know what the Lord is doing in your heart and in your life is real and valid! Guard it! There might be more deliverance that the Lord has for you at a later season and that’s okay. God knows exactly what you need and He will do exactly what you need at that moment. Go after God! Love Him! Be with Him! Watch as the Holy Spirit changes your life.

PRAYER

“Father, I thank you right now for our friends. I thank you Lord for the deliverance that they’ve received and what they may continue to receive. Lord, you are faithful and you are good. What you started in them you’re faithful to complete. Lord, I thank you right now for the power of the Holy Spirit to come on them and be their teacher, be their guide. Lead them into all truth! Lead them into the way that they should go! I thank you, Lord God, they will not fall, for you are with them! You are strong and you will hold them up! I speak comfort, peace, joy and your love, Lord, around their life. We give you all the glory and the praise for what you’ve done for them and what you continue to do! We love you Lord and we bless them in Jesus’ name, Amen.”
